Here are some other things to think about in relation to teaching an online course
- Accessibility
- Web pages must conform to the standards for accessibility as proposed by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To check your web pages for compliance with these standards and to learn more about accessibility issues, please visit the "Bobby" validation service online at http://www.cast.edu/bobby/ and type your URL (the full address of your page including the http: notation, such as http://www.cuesta.cc.ca.us) and click the submit button. The service will let you know immediately if you need to make changes to your pages to conform to the ADA standards. If you need additional help with this service, please contact Computer Services.
- Load and Compensation (Contract Language)

- Intellectual Property (Contract Language)
- The Cuesta College Bargaining Unit has secured contract language dealing with intellectual property. You can find the contract language at the CCFT Web site. http://www.thegrid.net/ccft/1999to2002/appendixe.html
- Fair Use Guidelines
- Many of the resources available to faculty for use on their Web site may also be copyrighted. The University of Texas System legal team has an interpretation of the guidelines and they have developed their own policy which they call the "Rules of Thumb" and they have developed a "fair use test." - Student Readiness Survey (external link)
- This online assessment will help students to see the kinds of characteristics needed for success in an online course.
- Learning Styles Inventory (external link)
- This online learning style inventory can help students understand how they prefer to learn. This inventory can be modified so that the results can be sent to the instructor. You will need the following username/password to access this inventory:
